November 2, 2026: AI Assistant in My Plans, Action Checklists, Plan History, and Connected Plans

Not every feature is included in every VisPlan License. Where a feature is limited to certain licenses, it is noted below. To see what your license includes, open the License dialog.

Find and manage your plans in My Plans

  • The Dashboard is now called My Plans. My Plans is where you see all your plans. This way it isn’t confused with the Dashboard you open from a plan’s title, which shows quick stats for that plan.
  • Ask the assistant for help. In My Plans, you can ask the assistant to find, open, create, change, or delete plans. If you don’t have a plan yet, it helps you create your first one. Available in Pro and Enterprise.
  • Go back to where you were. When you leave a plan, My Plans opens at the same place in your plan tree.
  • Get clearer messages. If a plan or site was deleted, or you don’t have access to it, you now see a message that explains what happened.

Get more done with the AI assistant

The AI assistant is available in Pro and Enterprise. Attaching files and the more advanced models may need extra options in your license.

  • Ask for more. The assistant can now change the look of shapes and the plan theme, move and resize items in the diagram, update key results, and set the active focus.
  • Save the prompts you use most. Pin a prompt to reuse it later. To bring back a recent prompt, press the Up or Down arrow key in the input box.
  • Add files to your chat. Attach a file from your computer or from your team’s files, and the assistant uses it in its answer.
  • See how the assistant is thinking. Watch its reasoning as it works, choose how much time it spends thinking, and pick from more models. When the assistant creates a plan, you can see the progress and stop it at any time.
  • Export or reset your chat from the buttons at the top of the sidebar.
  • Review your plan. Use the new Assessment tab in the sidebar to see assessments of your plan. Select a plan item in an assessment to go straight to it.

Break actions into steps

  • Add a checklist to an action. Open Edit Action to add a checklist, or tick off and add steps from the sidebar. You can also ask the assistant to do it for you.
  • Keep Planner up to date. If an action is linked to a Planner task, changes to its checklist are saved to Planner too. Planner allows up to 20 steps per task. Available in Pro and Enterprise.

See what changed in your plan

  • Version history is now available for all plans. It works for plans stored in SharePoint, in the VisPlan database, and on your device. Open an item to see its own history.
  • Work together without interruptions. When a colleague saves a change, the item you have selected and the sidebar you have open stay as they are. Changes to different items are combined automatically.

Connect plans in a hierarchy

  • Use sub plans in more places. You can now create sub plans for plans stored in the VisPlan database or on your device. A new sub plan starts with the objectives and key results of its main plan, and keeps the dates and progress of the actions you bring with you. Available in Enterprise.
  • Add existing plans to a cascade. When a sub plan leaves the cascade, it keeps the items it uses. People who have the plan open are told about the change. Available in Enterprise.
  • See progress from your sub plans. Turn on Rollup Relay in Organization settings to show the progress of sub plans in the main plan, even when people don’t have access to each other’s plans. Requires the Rollup Relay feature in your license.
  • Know when to refresh. You’re asked to refresh when a linked plan has changed. If a sub plan can’t be opened, you see its name and can remove the connection.
  • Check before you move or clone. The wizard tells you if the new site can’t find the people assigned to items.

Work with plans in other apps

  • Use VisPlan from Claude and ChatGPT. Add VisPlan as a connector in Claude or ChatGPT, and then ask them to read your plans, create items, update key results, and show your plan, without leaving the chat. See the knowledge base guide for the steps. Adding connectors depends on your plan with Claude or ChatGPT, so check with your provider.
  • Create plans in Power Automate. Add VisPlan as a custom connector in Power Automate or Power Apps, using the address https://prod.visplan.com/api/automation/v1/swagger.json, and create a plan as a step in your flow. Custom connectors need a Power Automate plan that supports them.
  • Sign in with an email, Google, or Apple account. When you connect Claude, ChatGPT, or another app to VisPlan, you now choose how to sign in: with a Microsoft work or school account, or with an email, Google, or Apple account, the same choices as in the VisPlan web app. You can also pick a different account when you reconnect, for example if you want to switch from your work account to another one.
  • Excel: If VisPlan can’t find the workbook or table for a key result, it tells you which one is missing. Available in Pro and Enterprise.
  • Planner tag names: If you sync tags with Planner, the names you gave your tags in VisPlan now show up as labels in the Planner plan when it is created. If the names differ later, you are notified and nothing is overwritten. Available in Pro and Enterprise.

Improvements to the diagram and views

  • Zoom more smoothly. Pinch to zoom is smoother on tablets and phones.
  • Add an icon to an Ambition. In edit mode, right-click an Ambition, select Edit Image, and pick an icon from the new Icons tab. Choose where the icon sits in the box and how large it is, and the text makes room for it.
  • Export from any view. Save your plan as a PNG or SVG file from every view.
