May 12, 2026 – Archive Items, Clone/Move Plans, Copilot Improvements, and Platform Updates
Archive Ambitions and Actions (New)
- Archive Ambitions: Ambitions that are no longer active can be archived directly from the sidebar. Archived Ambitions are removed from the plan diagram but remain in the plan data and can be restored at any time. All child Actions are automatically archived together with the Ambition.
- Archive individual Actions: Archive a single Action without affecting its parent Ambition. The Ambition stays visible and progress recalculates based on the remaining active Actions.
- Excluded from progress: Archived items do not contribute to progress calculations, giving a cleaner view of active work.
- Restore archived items: Archived Ambitions and Actions can be restored from the archive, bringing them back to their original position in the plan.
Clone or Move Plan (New)
- Clone a plan: Create a full copy of an existing plan, including its structure, content, and configuration. Useful for creating similar plans or starting a new planning cycle from a previous plan.
- Move a plan: Reassign a plan to a different position in the plan hierarchy using the new move wizard.
AI Copilot Improvements
- Direct file upload: Attaching documents to the AI Copilot (for context during plan generation or chat) now uses a direct file upload control, replacing the previous URL-based attachment approach. Drag and drop or browse to attach supporting documents.
- Conversation checkpoints: The AI Copilot sidebar now saves checkpoints during longer interactions, allowing you to resume or review a previous state of the conversation.
- Bring your own Azure OpenAI: Customers can now configure a custom Azure OpenAI endpoint in the OpenAI settings. This allows organizations with their own Azure AI capacity to use it for VisPlan Copilot features, keeping internal information within their own environment and ensuring better data security and integrity.
- Updated AI models: Added support for GPT-5.1 and GPT-5.4 models. The default model has been updated to GPT-4.1-mini for improved performance and cost.
- Migrated to Azure AI Foundry: The backend OpenAI integration now uses the updated Microsoft Azure AI Foundry URLs, in line with Microsoft’s current service endpoints.
Dashboard Improvements
- Group by Team: The plan dashboard now supports a new “Group by Team” grouping option, letting you organize and browse plans by their Microsoft Teams team alongside the existing grouping options.
Plan View Improvements
- Progress overlays on Capability lines: Progress and status overlays are now shown on Capability line objects, giving a quick visual summary of each Capability’s overall status directly in the plan view.
- Auto-width for AI-generated Ambitions: When generating a plan with the AI Copilot, Ambition objects are now automatically sized to an appropriate width based on their content.
Action List Improvements
- Source link column: The Action list now shows a direct link to the source item (DevOps work item, Planner task, or Jira issue) for any Action that is connected to an integration, making it easier to navigate to the original item.
Platform & Stability
- Fixed Actions not assigned to Focus on new plans: Actions that have no Focus assignment are now correctly grouped in the list on newly created plans.
- Fixed consent dialog for MCAS proxy environments: Resolved authentication and consent issues when VisPlan is accessed through a Microsoft Cloud App Security (MCAS) proxy.
- Fixed Planner API URLs: Updated to the new Microsoft Planner API endpoint URLs following Microsoft’s service update.
- Fixed image caching for print and export: Resolved an issue where cached images were not correctly included when printing or exporting a plan.
- Fixed link editor: Corrected a bug in the link editor that prevented links from being saved correctly.
- Translation and localization updates: Updated UI strings across English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Swedish.
